SureWest’s Oldham Named Vice Chair,
D&E Communications’ Kramer Continues at Leadership Committee Helm
WASHINGTON, D.C.—At a time of significant change in the U.S. political and economic climate, USTelecom has opted for continuity in its industry leadership. Silver Star Communications’ Ron McCue has been re-elected to a second term as USTelecom Chair.
“Our number one priority is one I believe we share with a majority of policy-makers. It is building a constructive climate for broadband investment, so we can continue the important work of bringing this vital modern infrastructure to the nation,” said McCue.
Joining McCue on the USTelecom leadership team are Steve Oldham of California-based SureWest Communications, who will serve as Vice Chair, and AT&T’s Jim Cicconi, who will serve as Secretary. Bert Kramer of Pennsylvania-based D&E Communications will continue as the association’s Treasurer and chairman of the USTelecom Leadership Committee, which works to develop educational programming, networking events and other activities that help small and mid-sized companies navigate a fast-changing business and technology landscape.
“With $60 billion in infrastructure investment last year, this nation’s broadband providers play an essential role in virtually every critical debate before our nation today—from economic recovery and job creation, to improving our health care and education systems,” said USTelecom President and CEO Walter B. McCormick Jr. “This decision is a strong statement that our industry wants to continue this essential progress. With a new Administration and new Congress, we are fortunate to have a seasoned, proven leadership team that is committed to continuing to offer their experience and hands-on leadership at this critical time for our industry and our country.”
McCue is Chief Operating Officer of Silver Star Communications. The company offers voice, wireless, high-speed Internet and digital television service to its customers and has served communities in western Wyoming and eastern Idaho for more than 60 years.
