USTelecom Applauds Elimination of Unnecessary Reporting Requirements
Background: Late Friday, the FCC issued an order and rulemaking granting certain carriers forbearance from filing ARMIS reports concerning certain service quality and infrastructure metrics.
The following statement is from USTelecom President and CEO Walter B. McCormick Jr.:
“USTelecom applauds the Commission’s action in this Order to eliminate costly regulatory burdens that are simply remnants of a telecommunications marketplace that no longer exists. In today’s competitive environment, consumers have numerous choices in providers of telecommunications services, yet these regulatory obligations applied to only a handful of the companies competing for customers’ business. The Commission was correct in finding that these reports are no longer necessary.”
The United States Telecom Association, USTelecom, is the premier broadband trade association representing service providers
and suppliers for the telecom industry. USTelecom represents companies offering a wide range of services across the communications
platforms, including voice, video and data over local exchange, long distance, wireless, Internet and cable services.
