Administrative Assistant – Member Services & Industry Affairs Department


USTelecom, America’s broadband association is seeking an Administrative Assistant for its Member Services and Industry Affairs department. USTelecom is the nation’s premier trade association representing broadband service providers, manufacturers and suppliers providing advanced applications and entertainment. USTelecom member companies provide broadband on a fixed and mobile basis, and offer a wide range of voice, data and video services. USTelecom is looking for a motivated team player who can handle a wide range of assignments. Reporting to the Vice President, Member Services & Industry Affairs, the position is responsible for managing the administrative operations of the department and supporting the communications, membership and events planning activities of the association. Duties include assisting in preparing and maintaining general correspondence, presentations, association newsletters, membership materials, and communication and marketing documents. The administrative assistant is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the department’s event and meeting calendars as well as any business travel if required. This position also assists in maintaining the membership database, proofs and edits materials, processes billing requests, prepares expense reports, manages time and attendance, and monitors industry publications. The incumbent will respond to routine information requests, assist with research and presentations as needed and distribute relevant information to member companies, vendors and industry resources. In addition, this position provides relief and back up support to the receptionist.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 to 3 years experience. The candidate should have excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills and be able to work independently and prioritize tasks within a rapidly changing work environment to meet deadlines. Exceptional computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, and Internet research and familiarity with membership databases are essential. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are also required. Previous trade association, membership, communications and/or marketing experience would be an asset. This position requires a candidate who is flexible, proactive in taking on assignments and responsibilities and has a willingness to learn.
