USTelecom is seeking an administrative assistant for its Law & Policy department. USTelecom members include the nation’s largest publicly traded broadband service providers, mid-sized phone companies and small rural cooperatives. The association is looking for a team player who can handle a wide range of assignments under tight deadlines. Duties include the preparation, production and maintenance of correspondence, decision memoranda for the CEO, presentations, legal documents, and the Association’s signed contracts. In addition, the administrative assistant is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of the legal department’s calendars to include meetings, conferences, teleconferences, etc. and the coordination of business travel. This position also maintains paper and electronic filing systems and committee and subgroup distribution lists, proofs and edits materials, processes billing requests, prepares expense reports, manages time and attendance, and monitors industry publications. The administrative assistant provides research as directed by the legal staff. The incumbent will respond to routine information requests, assist with legal research and presentations as needed and distributes relevant information to member companies. In addition, this position provides relief and back up support to the receptionist.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as an administrative assistant; have a full understanding of the administrative management process required in an office of busy executives working in a fast-paced environment; will possess excellent verbal and written communications skills; has the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks within a rapidly changing work environment. Exceptional computer skills including intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe are essential. Excellent interpersonal, communications and organizational skills are also required. Flexibility to work more than 40 hours a week as needed to meet deadlines is required. Previous trade association, law firm and/or FCC experience would be an asset. The position requires a high level of independent initiative, discretion, judgment and excellent administrative office skills.
