ISIS Launches in 2 U.S. Cities

On the heels of an overdue development and deployment schedule, the highly anticipated mobile payment service called “Isis” was launched on Monday in Austin, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah. This service will allow payments to be made with the swipe of a smart phone, instead of scanning a traditional credit card. American Express and Capital One will be the initial credit card companies that will be compatible with the Isis network and services.

This mobile payment network and mobile wallet service, born from a joint venture between Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and T-Mobile, will support up to 20 different mobile devices by year’s end.
