Draft 2018 Broadband Deployment Report Recognizes Timely and Reasonable Broadband Deployment

01.18.2018

Background: Today FCC Chairman Pai circulated a draft 2018 Broadband Deployment Report as required by Section 706 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

This statement can be attributed to USTelecom CEO Jonathan Spalter:

“In today’s draft report fact sheet, it appears the Commission has undertaken a careful and rigorous analysis of broadband deployment in the United States. Over the last two decades, the broadband industry has invested over $1.6 trillion to connect rural and urban communities. The report recognizes significant industry efforts to deploy broadband in a timely and reasonable manner, while also acknowledging more work needs to be done to fully extend high speed internet to underserved communities. We look forward to reading the full report.”
