Background: The House of Representatives is expected to pass bipartisan, bicameral legislation – RAY BAUM’S Act (H.R. 4986) – reauthorizing the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and spurring the deployment of next-generation networks.
The following statement is attributed to USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter:
“Reauthorizing the FCC is a homerun for consumers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and providers. Our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are sending a clear message that they are, indeed, committed to adopting common sense policies that break down barriers to connectivity and spur the deployment of next-generation networks. We hope the Senate maintains this forward momentum by swiftly passing the legislation.”
