Statement on American Broadband Deployment Act

Today, the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced legislation toward closing the digital divide and removing burdensome permitting regulations to help spur broadband deployment.

The following statement can be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, President & CEO, USTelecom:

“Broadband providers are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to connect communities. Unfortunately, permitting issues create roadblocks and unnecessary delays that impede connectivity for many. The American Broadband Deployment Act, sponsored by Representatives Buddy Carter, Nathaniel Moran, and Neal Dunn, will cut bureaucratic red tape, and streamline the permitting process so that providers can deploy broadband to those who need it. USTelecom and our member companies look forward to continuing to work together with Congress to get everyone connected, no matter where, no matter what.”
