The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Wireline Competition Bureau announced it will begin to make industry data related to the special access business broadband market available to review.
USTelecom President and CEO Walter B. McCormick Jr. announced Friday that he plans to resign at the end of 2016. In a letter to the board of directors, he asked Board Chairman Robert Hunt to make 2016 a year of succession planning for the association with the goal of hiring a new president to begin in January 2017.
USTelecom members have pledged to provide broadband service to nearly 3.6 million rural locations with $1.5 billion in support from the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Connect America Fund.
