Statement: FCC Adopts Measures to Tackle Rural Call Completion Issues

Background: The FCC today adopted new measures to better tackle the problem of call completion and ensure that calls are completed to all Americans—particularly those in rural America.

The following statement can be attributed to USTelecom President and CEO Jonathan Spalter:

“The Commission’s action is another significant and meaningful step toward ensuring rural call completion issues are fully, timely and efficiently resolved. While the rate of rural call completion complaints is declining, devising effective and efficient means of mitigating potential call failures – without unnecessary regulatory costs and burdens — is essential to families, businesses and communities in rural America.”
