Statement: House Open Internet Hearing

Background: At a House Subcommittee on Communications & Technology hearing examining the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) 2017 Restoring Internet Freedom (RIF) Order, members of Congress introduced open internet bills.

The following statement can be attributed to Jonathan Spalter, president and CEO of USTelecom:

“By stepping up to write into law the net neutrality protections that broadband providers have long supported: no blocking, no throttling and no anti-competitive prioritization, consumers can be confident they will continue to enjoy the innovative internet content and services they deserve and the open internet they require. We need a bipartisan approach to get this done and USTelecom and our members are ready and willing to come to the table.”
